British Army soldiers since the late 1970's.
They have all been issued and then returned to barracks for
service and re-calibration.

The following is an extract from " A Concise Guide to Military Timepieces"
by Z.M.Wesolowski a fantastic book covering all aspects of Military Timepieces

" In the 1970's the CWC company produced a tonneau-shaped wristwatch in a
monobloc case. This is reminiscent of the original concept devised by
Borgel and used in many of the First World war military pattern early waterproof
wristwatches; access to the movement is gained from the front after removing the
armoured Perspex glass..."
"....A special feature of this watch is the hacking device which has been fitted, to
stop the centre seconds hand during time setting. An identical wristwatch was produced
by Hamilton of Geneva, which used the same ebauche as in the CWC model.
Most of the Hamilton wristwatches were used by the Royal Air Force and are engraved
on the back with the "6bb" prefix.
Production of the CWC wristwatch continued for several years, until a Quartz model,
again supplied by CWC, superseded the mechanical watch....."
"... All these modern standard wristwatches are frequently referred to by Military
personnel as "G-Ten Ninety-Eights", from the form G-10/98 which
accompanies the requisition request for the issue of service equipment."
