VIRTUAL RADAR SYSTEM

The SBS-1 from Kinetic Avionics is the Market leading Virtual radar System that allows you to Receive
MODE-s and ADS-B signals that are Transmitted by Aircraft.

The system is totally self contained and comes complete with
SBS-1 Receiver
Easy to follow instructions,
Mag Mount Mini Antenna with 5m coax
USB Lead and
BASE STATION PC Software.

The SBS-1 is Powered from the USB port on your PC so it is ideally suited for LAPTOP Operation
on visits to your local Airport

The supplied Base Station software also records all flights to a database for later viewing and analysis

MODE-S Transmissions hold data regarding the Aircraft...
Data Includes:
Aircraft Manufacturer, Type, Altitude, Flight Direction. Position (Long and Lat), Climb / Descent Rate,
Operating Company (British Airways, EasyJet etc) , Radio Callsign and Much Much More.

This Data is translated by the Receiver and passed to your PC which uses the supplied BASE STATION Software
to give a REAL TIME Radar view of the Sky above and around you.
Place the supplied antenna in a convenient position (mine is on my window sill) and watch what's going on
above you in REAL TIME.

The Higher the antenna the better but as a guide even a basic set-up should receive signals from Aircraft around 100miles
from your position. Higher antenna heights will receive signals from much greater distances...
the manufacturer claims distances of upto 250miles with the supplied antenna !!

Links etc are provided from within the Base Station software.

The Flight is G-TOYE BMI Baby BMI5966 flying on a heading of 91.4 degrees at a height of 3900 ft and speed of 168.0 knots

The Blue trace to the South of EMA shows:
G-EZAP EasyJet EZY6541 leaving EMA on 214.7 degrees climbing through 12028 ft at a speed of 333.4 knots

Please note other details such as climb / descend rate, Squark codes, Mode-S Code
Aircraft Maker, Type, Model etc have been removed from the readout to aid clarity of reproduction on the web.
